Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic debilitating disease of the
central nervous system which afflicts young adults in the prime of
their lives. Approximately 400,000 people in the United States and
about 3 million people worldwide have MS. These patients have few
effective therapeutic options available. All current MS disease-modifying
therapies are only marginally effective in delaying disease progression,
involve painful injections and are plagued with significant side effects.
ImmunoModulary Solutions (IMS) addresses this underserved $2.5 billion
MS therapeutic market by introducing the first oral therapeutic for
MS. IMS’s patent pending formulation, Immureg, will target the
MS market with a highly effective and safe oral therapeutic. Immureg
has undergone over 4 years of pre-clinical validation and has been
conclusively demonstrated to dramatically reduce or eliminate the
neurological impairment seen in all established rodent models of MS.

Mujisan Pharmaceuticals - ! RUNNER
UP !
Product/Service: Drug Delivery
Contact: David Wang
davidwang@stanford.edu
(650) 799-2376
Mujisan Pharmaceuticals is a start-up drug delivery company based
on our proprietary drug polymer technology, PolyRx. It represents
a novel sustained-release (SR) formulation strategy that forms polymers
using individual drug molecules as the building blocks. The key advantages
of this technology are two-fold: (1) The SR mechanism is tamper-proof
as the active drug is released only physiologically and, unlike competing
platforms, cannot be mechanically compromised; (2) more drug can be
loaded in each pill, allowing for SR for 24 hours and thus improved
analgesic efficacy.
